The inspiration for the carving on this piece comes from a sixteenth century French Gothic panel. Heavy duty haunched mortise and tenon construction throughout.

Byzantine Entry Gates
Both sides of these gates are carved with a Byzantine ornament originating from the Hormidas Monastery in Istanbul, Turkey.
